Fold a Paper Sailboat

This is one of the paper models I could fold as a child but forgot about later. But now my memory is refreshed so I can share it with all of you.

Start with a piece of paper, letter size or DIN A4.

 

Fold it in half.

 

Fold it in half again, open it again.

 

Now fold down the upper corners to center.

 

Fold the remaining rectangles up, the front one to the front, the back one to the back.

 

From the front rectangle, fold back the shown triangles so that they disappear between the big triangle shape and the back rectangle.

 

Now fold the triangles of the rectangle at the back to the front.

 

Now open your model at the bottom. Push the corners inwards as shown and flatten the model again. It then should look like in the next image.

 

Fold up the lower half. Only one layer!

 

Turn it around and fold up the other layer.

 

Again open at the bottom, push the corners inwards and flatten the model.

 

Make sure your model is oriented as shown. Fold in half and open it again.

 

Now pull the corners outwards as shown. The model should now turn into a sailboat. Bring it into the right shape, it then should like like this:
