You need: imagination, plastic or cardboard cups and rolls, thread, scissors, glue, wool, color, little wooden sticks, a hand-drill

Now choose an animal you like and choose things you could construct it from - for example a sheep: We took an egg-box for the body, 4 cardboard rolls as legs, that we fixed with thread on the egg-box. Than we took another thread and fixed it as neck on the body, as head we chose a piece of wood - we stuck it together with the thread of the neck. If you can drill a hole in the wood, you can do so as well.
In the next step you fix the threads that make the animal move at several parts of the body (head and two points of the body). The ends of the thread you fix at the wooden sticks, that you stuck together in cross-shape, to be able to handle the marionette in the end.
Now you can finish the animal by adding the face (painting) and by fixing sheep-wool all around the body with glue.
If you prefer dogs look at the following pictures. Feel free to do other animals as well -I'd like to see them :-)!
